Prof. Rupert GETHIN

Rupert Gethin’s main research interest is the history and development of Indian Buddhist thought in the Nikāyas/Āgamas and Pāli and Sanskrit exegetical sources relating to the Abhidharma. He is currently working on two main projects: a series of studies of aspects of the theories of Indian Buddhist meditation, and a book on Abhidharma thought provisionally titled "Buddhist maps of the mind and body: a study of Buddhist thought in the Theravāda, Sarvāstivāda and Yogācāra Abhidharma".
Dr. Bryan DE NOTARIIS
University of Turin
Bryan De Notariis got his BA and MA at the University of Bologna (Italy) and he is currently a PhD student at the University of Turin (Italy). His research focuses on Buddhist texts in Pāli language, with a particular interest in the relationship between canonical and commentarial literature. He is also interested in the study of Upaniṣadic texts and their relation to Buddhist literature.
Prof. Marco FRANCESCHINI
University of Bologna
Marco Franceschini is Senior Assistant Professor at the University of Bologna. His research interests are in Sanskrit literature in ancient and medieval India, ranging from Vedic literature to Indian classical poetry (kāvya) in Sanskrit, and extending to the paleography of the Grantha script and the study of paratexts in manuscripts written in Grantha and Tamil scripts. He has spent periods of research in India, the UK and The Netherlands. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Associazione Italiana di Studi Sanscriti (AISS).
Dr. Andrea DROCCO
Ca' Foscari University of Venice
Andrea Drocco is a Fixed-term Researcher at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. His main area of research is Indo-Aryan linguistics, with a particular focus on the development of the alignment system in Middle and New Indo-Aryan languages. He has also published research papers on the interpretation of the technical terms tatsama, tadbhava and deśī in the context of the Prakrit grammatical tradition.
